What you probably don´t know is the recent release by Netflix of an independent production in the same genre, a movie called "Catfight" (not "A" or "The" but just "Catfight"). The story is about a long term rivalry between two ordinary women that gives the director an opportunity to stage three brawls in 90 minutes.
If you are a subscriber, why not give a look on the two?

GLOW was quite superior to the standard female "pro wrestling" of the day. As you say, for broadcast TV it was pretty cool. My favorite was Lisa Moretti who wrestled as Tina Ferrari. My luck I ran into her at a pet store in Los Angeles one day, last person in the world I expected to see in person. Great looking and very strong. We chatted a bit about pets but I just couldn't muster up the courage to bring up wrestling. She ended up in Washington State running a pet rescue or something similar.
ReplyDeleteNot enough wrestling in the Netflix TV show and the original GLOW girls and their costumes were way sexier. My favourite was Vicky Victory.
